Description of Stanley 77-154 SP5 FatMax Five Beam Laser Kit

This self-leveling tool emits 5 independent bright laser dots set accurately at 90 to the other, allowing rapid set-up of interior partitioning, shelving, and other internal installation work. On/Off switch incorporating a compensator locking device to protect the unit from damage during transporation. Auto shutoff after 20 minutes to conserve battery life. When Out-of-Level the beams blink to alert the user. Heavy-duty magnetic damping compensator for rapid and stable leveling. Magnetic universal mount allows the unit to be fixed to standard or camera tripod, magnetically fixed to a metal surface or strapped to a pipe or scaffold. Trivet for working up to and over floor channels. Includes: Laser, multimount, plumb trivet, strap, target, carrying case, batteries, and instruction manual.
The Stanley SP5 5-beam self-leveling laser is the 21st Century's must-have productivity and accuracy enhancing, leveling, and alignment tool. The MP5 offers five independently self-leveled 650nm highly focused laser beams, providing accuracy of 1/4-inch at 100 feet. With this versatile device, you can plumb level and square instantly with no bubbles to level -- just turn it on and go to work. The SP5's unique self-leveling and dampening system is the quickest to settle the beam, and there are no beam offsets -- because they all come from the same axial plane. This reduces errors and set-up time all around. The flashing out-of-level sensor eliminates rechecks and costly mistakes, and the on/off switch locks the lasers in place when they're not in use.

I purchased one of these over three years ago to establish a square corner for a poured concrete wall down in a trench. It worked very well. Since that time, I have found many other uses for the 5-way laser. Mostly, I use it for building layout by checking plumb, level, and square all at the same time. In a pole barn, you can simply place the level on the ground next to a post, climb up to the top with your tape measure and measure over to the laser beam. You will never again worry about a conventional plumb bob blowing in the wind. This 5-way laser is best suited for medium to big projects - especially outdoors - not for indoor picture hanging. It does not project a line on the wall. It projects a precision dot in five directions: Up, Down, Left, Right and Forward - all 90 degrees apart. (I own a picture hanging style level laser for things such as indoor work on a wall and I also own a Spectra Precision dual slope laser with a 3000' range (for those really big jobs)). All things considered, this Stanley Fat Max 5-way laser is one of my favorite tools for building layout, concrete form layout, and quality control. An amazing tool that fits in the palm of your hand.
